Swept Them Away

I had a dream last night that I was standing on the porch and watching the ocean.

Then I saw that the tide was creeping closer and closer and becoming more and more powerful. I begged and pleaded to the people around me to follow me inland. I told them what I saw, but then they looked and said, “It’s just the ocean. The tide always comes in, but it always goes out, too.”

I tried with all earnestness to say this time was different. I didn’t know how I knew it, but I could see what was going to happen.

They looked a the ocean and said, “It’s just the ocean. The tide always comes in, but it always goes out, too.”

I ran up two flights of stairs to quickly pack and when I looked back, the ocean came in and swept them away.

It’s just the ocean. The tide always comes in, but it always goes out, too.

It’s just the ocean, but it can sweep you away.
