I still put on my running clothes everyday.
Even though I can’t run like I want to, I still have to “suit up” and walk or even do housework because running is part of my routine, my decompression, my sanity. If I can put on the gear, then I can get my head to the same place of processing and relaxation.
It’s hard when an injury interrupts your regular schedule, especially when you have been in a training route, but you have two choices:
- Let it rest.
- Let it rest longer later.
This was a hard concept to get through my stubborn will, but being out for a week or two now is much better than being out for six months later.
Never hurts to be reminded to let your body rest and recover even in the midst of healthy training!
