Dear Merianna,
The call changes everything. The called leave one classroom to enter another. . . The called leave home.
This is the beginning of the email to notify me that I was accepted to Divinity School.
One of my friends recently said to me, “I admire you so much for taking the risk and just picking up and changing the direction of your life.”
Her words are much more positive than the thoughts running through my head:
Are you crazy?
You’ll never be able to afford…..(this list is too long to type!)
What if a church doesn’t want you?
What if you don’t have what it takes?
And yet, these questions don’t deter me.
The call changes normal.
The call changes everyday.
The call changes routine.
The call changes budgets.
The call changes everything.
I am called.
I am changed.
