Maybe, it was all the Pinterest.
Maybe, it was the stress of finals, but in the somewhere along the way, I decided to make many Christmas gifts this year.
It took a little practice to relearn how to cross-stitch, but I caught on again!
I found myself thinking about the person I was making the gift for with each stitch rather than quickly getting a present and moving on to the next person on my list. I also found myself having to work around mistakes I had made and having to think differently that I usually did. And in the midst of this, I realized that there is something distinctly meditative about creating something for someone else. There’s something magical about immersing yourself in the creative process.
Have we forgotten the magic that is a part of the creative process?
