When I meet new people, I find myself telling my life story…or rather a variation of my life story.
Should I emphasis my years as a teacher?
Should I explain how I ended up overseas?
Should it be all about being in seminary this time?
If I’m honest, my version of my life story depends on my audience. It depends on how we met and where we met. But more than that, it depends on where the person is. Because having a conversation isn’t about telling my story. It’s about making a connection, setting the foundation for a relationship.
Even my life story isn’t completely about me.
