I’ve been told that it is common for women who have been married for a month or so to long for a new look most often in the form of a new haircut or maybe chop is the right word. That hair that has been grown out to do the wedding hairdo, just won’t do anymore.
This is interesting if you think about it because it means that there is something within these women who want express that they feel new and different. Married life has changed them even in the short amount of time they have experienced it and they want others to see that change in a noticeable way, maybe? And what does it say about our social and cultural norms that it is the woman who wants to take this step and not the man?
I have no conclusions for these noticings and observations merely questions to share and wonder aloud.
