You are really in three different worlds while working in marketing, teaching and pursuing seminary, aren’t you?
I’ve gotten this response quite often this fall and I can understand the initial reaction, but we don’t live in an compartmentalized world. I would argue that we never have.
With my History 5 students last year, I tried to constantly reinforce the idea that history doesn’t happen in isolation.
Neither do marketing and teaching and religion.
They all converge.
Churches want people to come and therefore need to market.
Schools need resources for their students and therefore need to market.
Marketers need people to buy and therefore need teachers and ministers.
Nothing happens in isolation.
