When You’re Weary

O Soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’s light for a look at the Savior and life more abundant and free.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

This hymn has been going nonstop in my mind this week because I am weary. And I know you are too. There’s so much suffering and pain surrounding us. We are all being asked to carry too much for too long.

We all need the “things of earth to grow strangely dim” for just a few minutes so that we can get our feet up under us, don’t we? Just one good night’s sleep. Just one day filled with only good news. Just one morning without a notification that a loved one has been exposed or tested positive.

But there isn’t a reprieve yet. There isn’t a break in the action. There is no way we can call TIME OUT!

When weariness wears on, what do you? When your soul is heavy-burdened and troubled, where do you go?

We look up.

Look up to the stars. Look up to the sky. Look up to the sun. Look up to the moon. Look up, Child because there is something more than all of this. There is something bigger than us.

Look up, child! You are not alone.
